There is a .cfg file that stores the resolution, but for me the game crashes after the intro if I change it to a non-4:3 resolution. Haven't been able to find anything related to FOV.

Could be there are fixes or patches I do not know about of course.

When you play Redline, do you get any constant music on the levels? I've noticed there's been little to no music in each level I play.

Same here.

I had a look at some YouTube videos and they only have music at the start of the levels. Don't know if it is a bug or if they are CD audio tracks that do not repeat.

Now that is in an interesting find! I wonder if there is some way to tell the game to put all the tracks on repeat.

Well, it seems that the game CD contained 1 data track and 9 audio tracks, so it does appear that originally it had CD audio. How much music is there in the GOG version of the game? (It is still on my wishlist for now). If GOG have the music running as they have done for other games then there should be some mp3 files in the installation folder somewhere.

There are 9 OGG tracks in the "MUSIC" folder for Redline. I think it's clear that the music was supposed to loop for every level, but I'm not sure how to tell the game to do that.

Yes, GOG sometimes use OGG files for the CD audio, so 9 files for 9 audio tracks suggests it is all there then. So maybe the game never repeated the music tracks as per those YouTube videos? It is a possibility.

If you really do want to have constant music then you could play the OGG files in a media player and turn the in-game music off (or move the OGG files so that the game can't find them to play them). That way the media player could be used to repeat the tracks.

The problem with doing that is that I would not have access to the music player since the game runs full screen only. That's why it's too bad the game doesn't have a windowed mode.

Does Alt-Tab not work to switch back to the desktop? I know GOG lock the function out of some games (those that don't like it).

The game resolution is completely different since my monitor is a 16:10 ratio and the game only runs at 4:3 ratios. That's why I prefer games to run in a window.

I mean use Alt-Tab to get back to the desktop so that you can use the media player to change the track or start it playing, then Alt-Tab back to the game. You said you wouldn't have access to the media player, but if Alt-Tab works then you can switch out of the game to start a media player up in the background then switch back to the game.
I still have the original CD-ROm and I remember (hope not to be wrong) that music played once per level and no loop was present at the time. But still, I should reinstall it and check to be sure.
I love how most posts have nothing to do with the topic :D
