Hello everyone,

Because I encountered several games on gog with multiplayer DRM I'm curious about this game: Is there offline multiplayer for e.g. LAN games by direct IP connect? Does "Red Faction: Guerrilla Remastered" multiplayer require any kind of third party server (if so can it be self-hosted)? Or more generally asked: If they decide that running their servers isn't "cost effective" anymore, can I still play it with some friends?

Thanks in advance!

There is a LAN multiplayer mode in this game, however LAN means exactly this. If you get people into a virtual LAN this should work, but it won't work across networks.

Also, the game runs peer to peer, so no server required for gameplay, but servers are required to find matches etc. So yes, if servers for matchmaking are discontinued then you fall back onto LAN only.

Thanks for clarification. Sounds good to me :-)
