The original Rebel Galaxy was playable with keyboard and mouse, but the developers hinted in the GOG forum that they loved playing the game with a gamepad. Tried so and found that it was really the way the game was meant to be played.

So, right I I am wondering, what about the sequel? Is it best played with a mouse, like Freelancer or Strike Suit Zero? Or with a gamepad, like the first title? Or what about a flightstick?

Then, it might be possible to try any of these, but maybe some option will work better. Like gamepad being best for RG and a mouse being best for Strike Suit Zero.

Compared to the first Rebel Galaxy this is less viable with mouse and keyboard (I played the first twice, once with M+K and once with a gamepad).
It depend on which you prefer between a gamepad and a flightstick, personally I hate flying with mouse and keyboard in general so it might just be me.
I played RGO with a full HOTAS set that had extra buttons that allowed a few extra shortcuts compared to a gamepad (in general there are optional mappings that can bypass the radial menus for almost everything) and it was great.
