Just started playing, pretty cool game. While admiring the scenery I notice some of the debris rotates kinda choppy, while others seem fine, not sure if its dependent on distance from camera or only certain types of debris.
Can someone confirm please? Ive got all my settings on and maxed at 1920x1080 resolution. I'm using an i7-6700 with 16gb and an RX480 with 8gb, thank you.

I don't know if these are linked, but when I first played, the whole game was very choppy. I fixed this by changing the rendering to direct X 9, now it runs nice and smooth.

Thank you...The rest of the game is very smooth though, only certain pieces just rotate badly. Kinda like that effect some developers use where they lower the animation framerate of distant characters and then when you get closer they get better. I night try changing the rendering like you suggested.

I can confirm that some debris *do* have choppy animations. If you look carefully, you'll notice that they also have a fixed resolution (i.e. the closer they get to the camera, the more pixelated they become).

So we have choppy animations and a fixed resolution, typical behavior for sprites. Using 2D sprites instead of 3D models is a common technique to improve performance of a game. Normally 2D sprites are only used for objects that are far in the distance, so the choppy animation and low resolution aren't as obvious.

Bottom line: nothing to worry about, it's how the game was made.
