Has anyone else noticed that Rebel Galaxy seems to create an empty "BINARIES" folder outside of the game folder? I've noticed that this strange folder was created at the same time I installed Rebel Galaxy. Since RG has other folders that are capitalized like "MEDIA" and "PAKS," this tells me that the BINARIES folder must be related.

I'm running Win7 and It looks like deleting the folder has no impact in the game. Is this extra folder a bug?

Update:
I just found out that the game will recreate this BINARIES folder outside of the game directory after running the game. This seems like a bug. Shouldn't this folder be recreated inside the game directory?

The folder isn't created in Documents. It's created outside of the game's main folder "Rebel Galaxy."

So if this is the path of the main game: ...\test\Rebel Galaxy, the BINARIES folder would be created in "test" which doesn't make sense. The BINARIES folder is supposed to stay in the Rebel Galaxy folder.

Any update on this issue? The game shouldn't be creating folders outside of its own game folder.
I'm seeing the exact same behavior on my Win8.1 Pro 64 bit system. This one's connected to a LAN, but not the Internet FWIW.
Any update on this bug?
Just found this thread after realizing the same thing as you. It is certainly not a big problem, but a bug nonetheless. If for some reason the game NEEDS to create the folder, it should be inside the game's folder.
