I'm experiencing really strange colour effects when running the game. I seem to be getting blue/purple effects which jump around every time the mouse moves, making the game very difficult to look at for longer than 10 seconds. I think it is something to do with the shadows when in a darkened area (the very first area of the game) as the effect is not as noticeable in lit areas.

It happens whether I'm running the straight GOG download or the updated US patched version. I've tried every single option in the 'Graphic Mode Setup' found in the RotH drawer with no change at all. I've also tried running the game in windowed mode too but with still the same problem.

Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do to make this effect non-existent or failing that, less noticeable?

Many thanks.

I'm quite sure I had this problem a year and a half a go when I installed the game, but I can't seem to remember the steps I took to correct it. Have you done everything recommended in this thread?

Thanks, I searched through this forum too before I asked the question but missed this! Anyway, that is exactly the problem I was having so I followed the tips in the thread and it seems a bit better. I'm going to push on with the game as I'm looking forward to playing and everyone seems to reckon it gets better as it goes on. Once again, thanks :)
Oh yeah, you'll have fun with this game, I guarantee you that! Enjoy!
