I saw a few topics in this forum about the game being a dos title, but I also remember seeing a topic about a "not installed" error.

This error may get in the way of playing this on my android device (which is generally the only way I have time to play single player games anymore)

so my question is this: Is it possible to bypass this error and play the game on a mobile device using a port of dosbox? (If so, I am going to buy this instead of Starflight 1+2)

It should run, yes (I have no idea what "not installed" error you are talking about, though).

However, I seriously doubt that it will run at a playable speed on a mobile device, even at a reduced resolution. DOSBox emulation is quite CPU intensive, especially on ARM processors and Realms of the Haunting is simply too demanding. Starflight 1+2 should run just fine though.

Here is a list of all GOG games using DOSBox, maybe it will help you finding more suitable DOS games for your Android device:

AnDosBox added a new FAST CPU setting (Arm Dynaric Based) that actually allows me to play daggerfall at full speed. At this moment the only issues I foresee are with the controls.

Wow, Nice. What kind of Android device is this?
HTC Amaze 4G. Mind you I have to turn on the framelimiter, max frameskip, and set Cycles=MAX as well as reduce sound quality to 11025, but it's playable all the time, and most of the time gets a perfect framerate. (Framelimiter keeps the frameskip from making the game unplayable) - Also, setting Daggerfall to LoadHigh helps a lot too.

Currently I've found time to play RotH on PC, but soon I'll try it on Android. Mind you that's as soon as I figure out how to mess with the sound settings to change the music, sound, and voice drivers, then set the resolution and details to default to minimum (Had to do that to get Blood working).
