Please don't, I love this unique element of surprise! (Oh, there were many great unexpected updates here on GOG: the talkie versions of MM4+5, the expansions for the Wing Commander series, the German language versions of the Gothic series, Book of Unwritten Tales and now Realms of Arcania. And I have to admit it now: I love your new circular game icons, they look all very handsome on my desktop, much better than the older ones.) :)

Yes, I've read this in another thread and was very impressed about GOG's efforts to buy it from a Brazilian internet store. I don't understand a single word of Brazilian Portuguese, but it's just great to see a game with all its language versions here. In my opinion the release history of a game is only completed if it finally appears in GOG's catalogue. I see you not only as merchants, but as curators. (And I hope there will be more AAA titles in future.) :)

Great news! First I thought the update flags were because the new installer, but after adding the files to the downloader the two marks were still there. And see I realized an important part of german computer gaming history is now on gog ;-) Big thanks for releasing the Nordlandtrilogie,

Has anybody tried to import a party from "The Blade of Destiny" to "Sternenschweif" (from the English first part to the German version of the second part) yet? Because I finished "The Blade of Destiny" yesterday, saw that German versions of the games are available now, installed those and imported my party. Every character was on level six, but as soon as they leave the temple they are all upgraded to level 21! Are the required point values for reaching new levels higher in the English versions by any chance? Or is this some weird bug because I used a party from an English version in the German version?

Yes. The English version awards 50x as much XP (but you also need 50x as much to reach the next level). There was a solution somewhere for exactly your problem. I'll try to find it and post a link.

EDIT: Here's the link to the hex-edit thread. Just edit the XP values in your character files and your problem's solved.

I do hope the full soundtrack will be added to the English version, but in the mean time, can the audio from the German version be used with the English version?

Perhaps it's possible to make a hack, but I'm afraid there's no official patch for this issue. However, there could be a compromise: I've tried the very good Arachno Soundfont from Maxime Abbey and was able to get a General Midi music which sounds rather similar to the original cd audio. (plus, you will get always the correct piece for every game situation, which isn't the case with CD audio, because the space on both discs was limited, which results in a double occupancy of some titles.)

Edit: The cd soundtrack of all roa games is located as ogg files in the game directory of the German versions, so you can make easily a comparison with varying soundfonts.

So, would you guys recommend to play the game in German if you understand the language? I usually try to play the game in the original language, mostly because it's also the superior version. And this time it seems there are even more advantages to playing the games in German. Though it will take quite some time till I'll get to playing the games :D
