Hi,
I'm wondering about something... When I installed the game, my antivirus popped up and marked some of the executables in the installer as viruses (namely, files like RAYRUN.EXE and MAPPER.EXE, not sure if there are more...) They were identified as W95/CIH by Avira Antivir. Even though they might be (and almost certainly are) false positives. I'm still wondering about their purpose - what are they used for? I quarantined both files just to be safe, and all the games still run perfectly fine from the desktop shortcuts and from the Start menu as well. Are those files necessary for some purpose? And if they are, can someone please confirm that they are false positives?

I have exactly the same problem. Looks like we have to wait for an answer from the GOG team.

Those are used by the editor... the game itself runs in DOSBox, where any virus would be isolated, so you can safely play until there's a reply from the GOG team, as long as you don't touch the editor.
Exact same problem here. Avira Internet Security, all up to date, detects the same W95/CIH virus in four of the Rayman EXE files.

Being Avira I'm assuming they're false positives, but I might hold off playing until GOG have said something official.

Snap and snap with Avast.

The Raykit folder lists:

rayrun.exe
mapper.exe
client.exe
startup.exe

...as viruses/trojans.
ESET Smart Security (all up to date) also detects these files as a threat... Whether correct or not, it would be good to have this fixed by the programmers.
Same problem here too. 4 exe files identified as viruses (using Avast) called Win32:CIH-G@dam

Sounds like a pretty nasty virus according to this page: http://www.pcsafedoctor.com/Unknown/remove-Win32.CIH-G@dam.html

I really really hope this is a false positive...

I was this close to buying the game, until I saw the virus thing. Really... I aint risking it. Not gonna risk 6 buckazoids that can ruin my pc.
I want this soooooo bad, but I cant take the risk. I hope GOG at least announces they are aware of the problem.
Using F-secure and it blocks the installation upon detecting several Trojans.
Quite a few, and quite malicious pieces too. I'd like to hear GOG's take on this-
they've obviously worked with the files so I doubt it's anything truly dangerous,
but an explanation would be appreciated!
It's amazing that despite multiple reports this hasn't received any attention from the GOG team so far (even though Rayman is one of the latest hot releases, I believe it should be in GOG's best interest to make sure that nothing hinders the popularity of this title and the readiness of members to purchase it :\ ), did anyone try reporting the virus detection problem to the team directly (using tech support)? I might do that during the weekend if it doesn't get resolved before then.

I reported the issue a couple of days ago, with a link to this thread, but I haven't got a response yet.
I took the risk and I launched the mapper and now I regret it, I really hope they are false positive alerts . :/
Same problem >:(?

Why did you regret it ? Did you have troubles or damages on your PC after ?

I'm a little stunned this STILL hasn't been addressed by GOG. C'mon guys, just a quick comment saying 'These are definitely false positives' would be fine.
