Rise-T: Just had the same problem with Rayman 3 not launching on Windows 10 AU x64.

Problem fixed by installing Microsoft's (legacy) DirectPlay library.

You can do that via Windows: "Programs and Features" >> "Turn Windows features on or off" >> "Legacy Components" >> "DirectPlay".

Game runs without any problems after doing this.
This is what I did for this when I couldn't launch it on Windows 8.1
Nevermind i didnt read the OP's post thoroughly.

I can confirm this works at least on Windows 10 64bit Home (Creators Update installed).
DirectPlay fix didn't seem to work for me. Process disappears same as it did before. =/

Edit: Nevermind, did the setup .exe and the game launched fine. Now I just gotta get my controller working with it.

After some messing about, it works for me on Windows 10 x64! Yahoo!

I'm trying to play the Hebrew version. I still own the original box and discs I bought back in 2004 or so. I installed the game but it won't start (it launches an unkillable "Rayman3.exe" process that stays running in Task Manager until I restart my computer). I purchased GOG's English version and it works like a charm, so I was hoping I could also fix my Hebrew version.

I completely removed the game and also removed Better Rayman 3 (which starts a "BR3_Config.exe" process and immediately kills it, but no window appeares).
I enabled the legacy component DirectPlay using the above method, then installed Rayman 3 in "C:\Games\Rayman 3 (hebrew)".
I also installed DirectX8 (even though I obviously have DirectX12 already) when the installer asked me to.
In an earlier time (before I uninstalled the game) I tried editing the ubi.ini file but it didn't solve my problem, so I just left it the way I edited it (so now it is different than the default file the installer creates - I attached its contents below).
I created the folder "Ubisoft" in %appdata%, and copied the edited "ubi.ini" file from C:\Windows\Ubisoft into it.
I set "Rayman3.exe" to run in compatibility mode in Windows XP SP3 and as an administrator.
Then I launched it and it opened a 1280x960 window in which the game was running smoothly!

Now I'll try my best with Better Rayman 3 to try and get 1080p fullscreen. But I'm happy that it finally works!

RibShark: I also sometimes experience this problem, but I was able to fix it.
To all having troubles, try downloading this zip archive (open the page and click the arrow to download), and extracting the contents to the folder you installed the game into (make sure that d3d8.dll is in the same folder as Rayman3.exe). Hopefully this will work for all of you, as well as me.
This worked for me, thank you so much!

I tried this but a message windows said that a file was missing I think it was a ddl, so I tried Uninstalling the files I dowloaded from this lnk (like it is said in the page (deliting a the converted and another file) and tried to use the compatibility mode and windows downloaded a DirectPlay and the game started without any other problem.

I dont know if it was necessary to do everything or just use the compatibility mode but that is how I got it to work
Alright, so my problem was that while trying to launch the game (I've lost it), there was a popup titled "Rayman 3 not initialized" with "please run Rayman III setup".

Now I think that maybe I should have just added "Rayman 3" under "Installed products" to ubi.ini, but I'm not sure because I've found the thing which I mention below and it fixed the problem.

ANYWAY THIS WORKED FOR ME: raymanpc[dot]com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=12854
Download, install to where the game is installed (for me the installer automatically knew where the game was) and then the game should run without asking any questions or reporting any problems.

I hope this helps, have fun!

Hi!
you go to the GOG app > rayman 3
next to it there it a button called 'more' click on it and on manage > game files
you scroll down the folder until you see 'rayman setup dx8', you click on it and wait, after that you click on the rayman3 app below it, it should install dx8. then you can play the game! discovered it just now!

I have the exact same version and I did everything you did and its not working for me what should I do?
Check you windows folder for an Ubisoft folder, inside that should be a ubi.ini file, if not create an Ubisoft folder and then create a new blank notepad file and save as ubi.ini (save as all files) on your desktop. Cut that and paste into the Ubisoft folder you created -right click the file after, go to properties and take the tick out of read only. Try running the game again.
