The game will change resolution, I can see a window opening on my task bar down the bottom, then it crashes, and when fiddling with the games config program setting it to the right resolution it instantly crashes, no errors, nothing.

Ive seen the config program say my gfx card is unsupported or something, normally something I just ignore though with these old games.

I noticed the game defaults to compatibility mode for win7, but I tried changing that for the games desktop shortcut and nothing.

Tweaking settings didnt work, neither did verifying the game through Galaxy.

I found a fix for OpenSSL issues with intel CPU's 10th gen and older but it done nothing.

Any help would be appreciated.

System info:
11th Gen i9-11900k @3.5
32GB RAM
RTX 3080 ti (ver. 511.23)
Win 10 Pro (ver. 19041.1348)
Running a single LG TV as a display through an HDMI cable, might be over sharing but I know old games can fail to launch because of display settings.

Yeah I got a similar issue. Just recently bought the game, but it just won't properly launch.
It might have something to do with visual drivers or such.
If I launch just the game configuration application, it will tell me my drivers are out of date.

Seems to be something related to the Graphics generally.
I managed to launch this game on another machine with an Intel CPU on it. It only wanted to use the CPU and a graphics unit. And even then, I had to force it to play in windowed mode to make it feel decently good (otherwise the screen would tear a lot).
I followed this post for that: https://steamcommunity.com/app/15080/discussions/0/3201492475332498078/

I found the solution for me was to go to Nvidia Control Panel and reset my 3D settings, after that the game launched without any issues. If someone has an AMD GPU and are running into this issue as well, you would probably have to do it there as well, Intel users are probably the only ones that are unaffected by this.
