Is the game compatible with modern pads ? Namely xbox360 as far as I'm concerned.
I'd like to try it, but not with a keyboard lol
That's the kind of information that should be mentionned on the product page, by the way :)

It probably isn't compatible: the game is simply too old (1995, that's 6 years before even the first XBOX...).
However, there are several programs available over the internet, that help you map keyboard or mouse commands to your Xbox controller.
The most famous would be Pinnacle Game Profiler, but it's not freeware (you get a 30-days trial period). I tried it some time ago, it works fine!

IMO, this kind of information isn't mentioned on the product page simply because it's irrelevant: the majority of games sold on GoG are simply too old to be compatible with modern pads.
I'll make this short: the XBox360 pad works beautifully, as should any other pad with 4 buttons or more.

P.S. Of course the digipad doesn't work, but that's probably a blessing with the XBox360 pad.

The game runs through DOSBox, and DOSBox supports Joypads.

It could be relevant if GoG added some support for those. Unfortunately, I think they rely a little too much on DOSBox.
Well, I'm no ingeneer, so I don't know if it is complicated to add. Maybe it's impossible, but maybe not...

Thanks for your answers guys :)
Kamikave, read the rest of the page: MasodikTiasma was wrong about this one.
Just to say that I bought a new pad the other day and it works fine with Rayman.
Playing Rayman without a pad is very painfull, I advise you to use a pad when you play the game ^^
Using a xbox pad and got no problem att all. ^^
I have a Logitech Rumblepad 2 usb Gamepad, but when trying to "calibrate" the pad in the game, nothing happens. Has anyone else a Rumblepad2 successfully wortking with Rayman2? (BTW: the gamepad works with other games like FlatOut, etc.)

Rayman 2 may only see usb gamepads that are connected to a usb 1.0 port. I say this because my usb gamepad works on my old WIN ME pc when playing Rayman 2 but not my WIN XP pc that has usb 2.0 usb ports. I have an old usb pci card some where that I need to install to see if this is actually true.
I'd add that if you're having problems with using 4 buttons on your joypad go to the game's directory, open the dosbox config file (for example "dosboxRayKit.conf" or similar for other Rayman games) and change the line
joysticktype=2axis
to
joysticktype=4axis

This should make all of the buttons on your joypad work properly.

One more thing, if you have many joysticks connected to your computer, the game will only use the first one, or the one that's selected as the preferred one in the "game controllers" window in the Windows Control Panel.

works perfectly with my cheap ass dealextreme gamepad : >

Just played for two hours, it has so much nostalgia value and is also a great game. Love the surrealistic world and characters.
