Running in win 8.1 x64 I had so many issues. Nothing seemed to work when running with different compatibility settings, and changing the settings on the nGlide wrapped didn't help. Running as admin didn't make the situation better. I couldn't even get the sound to work.

The solution to all of this was to change the default install path from C:\GOG to my desktop. Suddenly everything worked without a hitch. No crashes, full sound, everything now works flawlessly with no need to change any compatibility settings or run as admin.

I just figured I would post this here for anyone having similar issues.
