Bought Raptor this morning. Fantastic to play this again. Only problem is, I am getting a fail message when I try to save the pilot, and there is no saved pilot when restarting the game.
Any ideas? Playing on Win 7 32 bit.

Probably the "Win 7" bit. GoG is still working on Win 7 support - Check the general message board; there should be a thread.
high rated
Either run as admin or change the permissions on the folder (C:\program files\gog.com\Raptor) so that "Users" have full control.

Except on the DotEmu website (the guys who did this port), they claim Win XP, Vista and 7 support. And no, no word there either.
As for permissions, good idea, but tried and no difference.
DaddyMD, I had the same problem but i just changed the compatibility to windows xp service pack 3, and that did the trick.

Odd - I had this problem under Win7, but running as admin fixed it. Though I'm running the 64 bit version.
Apparently, though I thought I had run as admin, I hadn't. Tried that again and worked great. Thanks for the help!
I changed my GOG.com folder security permissions to include my current username, giving it full control (you may have to add your username manually). Worked fine and I didn't even have to restart the game. Small oversight, but I guess it's understandable.
Permissions fix the issue for me on Win 7 - surprised they don't save data in the user's app data folder.
I'm having the same problem, but on Vista instead... I have tried the admin suggestion and it continues to fail the save. Any other ideas?
Change the folder permissions, install to a different folder have both been suggested.
I had the problem given in the OP and I was also not able to change the game settings in the title screen (the game crashed every time I tried to). The solution given above solved this for me as well. Thank you.
Had a same problem with saving. I have Vista 64, running program as an administrator helped perfectly. Thx

Thank you so much. I can now save my game, AND go INTO the options screen on the title screen, AND exit it without the game crashing on me.
running as admin worked for me
have to do it every time though, it seems.

I'm on windows 7 64 bit
