This game ran for a day and then started getting the same message. Ive updated the pc and changed resolutions and still wont work.

There's an extraneous file within the game that you need to delete as it was only endemic to computers at the time.


A windmill.dll file or something like that. I believe it is at the bottom of the files.

Don't delete right away, just remove from the file system first, then run the game or make a copy or something. One you've found the file, take it out.

I am also having this issue. did you get it fixed

I just downloaded and installed a recently updated version of the original 1998 classic Tom Clancy Rainbow Six PC game from GOG.com, and I managed to get it started and running successfully without experiencing any of the earlier start-up problems.

In my case, I believe that the cause of not being able to start the game successfully could be primarily pinned down to one or both of the following:

- Computer hardware issues - my previous older computer hardware could have some inherent problems of its own that prevented the game from being able to be started and run successfully. Since then, I have changed my computer hardware to completely brand new ones, in order to solve any computer hardware issues;

- Computer software issues - the previous older version of Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six PC game could have some types of bugs that prevented it from being able to be started successfully. It seems that the recent updated version of it has fixed any known bugs that were found in its earlier versions.

Alternatively, if anyone is still not able to get the game starting and running properly, they can always buy the Tom Clancy Rainbow Six video game on another platform.

The video game itself is also available for sale and play on the Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) video game console platform, Sony Playstation Portable (PSP) , and also on the brand new re-released version of the original classic Sony Playstation 1 video game console platform as well, namely the Sony Playstation Classic.
