A few months ago, the Rainbow Six composer Bill Brown posted the soundtrack "<span class="bold">The Original Scores 1998-2004</span>" to listen to on Soundcloud, via a comment on his Facebook page. For those of you like me who do not have the original CD to hear this fantastic music (the GOG release does not feature any of it), this is a real treat. Just click and listen.
Now if only we could get the early RS game(s) to play digital music files ... (and by the way, I thought that was part of GOGs original mission statement, to reverse engineer classic games as a complete digital package? Why did they not rip the music for this release?)
In the meantime, I'm playing the original RS and EW campaigns as a mod for the more improved engine of RS2 Rogue Spear (which I do have the CD and music for thankfully). So anyway, I downloaded the above soundtrack MP3s of the original game to play in the background (with foobar2000) - the five "Planning" tracks in particular - and just pausing it in when the action starts. It makes the planning stage far more enjoyable. :)
I'm really liking the Rainbow Six main theme too, though the Rogue Spear one probably remains my favorite ... and the Urban Ops "remix" is pretty sweet. (Have not listened to or played RS3 yet)
