Really odd. Anytime a button is pressed the screen stops updating. Tried different keyboards the whole nine yards. Nothin'. Different settings, compatibility tabs, vid card settings, sound card settings everything. etc

I'm certain that it is during key presses of any kind because I can hold down any key to move anything and it stops responding.

Don't say stick keys. I've tried that too.

Your computer may suffer from a certain affliction where if you press multiple keys at once, the keyboard stops responding and you may hear beeping noise on your computer. I know this sounds like a lame solution but get a standard USB joypad on eBay for less then $5 and problem solved. I don't play with the keyboard except for FPS games.
I tried multiple keyboards. There's no beeping. It works fine with everything else both with USB and PS/2 port. Its something else.
