I can play this on MAME without any problem, but here? The framerate is awful...
I'm having the same problem; changing the video options has no effect. The lag basically makes the game unplayable as it's impossible to know if I'm dodging shots or not.
What are your guys' system specs?
Intel Core i5 520M @ 2.40GHz
4,00 GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 532MHz (7-7-7-20)
TOSHIBA Portable PC (rPGA988A Socket)
1024MB GeForce GT 330M (Toshiba)
466GB Western Digital WDC WD5000BPVT-22HXZT1 (SATA)

I don't think that a shmup could overload my specs...

The lag is like this, it constantly switches between high and low fps... making the game unplayable...

Yeah, I am pretty sure my spec is too high for the game or something. I am getting some consistent stuttering while playing the game.

Processor: Intel i7-3770K
RAM: 16GB
GPU: Geforce GTX 670 4GB
Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
Same problem here. Although my system is getting a little long in the tooth, it should easily be able to handle a 2D shooter.
Running Win 8 Pro 64-bit btw.
Same here

3770K @ 5GHZ
2 GTX Titans
8GB DDR3 1600

Just keeps skipping and lagging.

Same problem is present on my laptop that has IB and 680M.
Today's update didn't solve the issue for me. :(
@ Hawk777th & Devspar : Are you guys running 64-bit versions of Windows? Just wondering if there's something common to us all.

Yes, we're running 64-bit. I'm just finished downloading the patch, will try it today to see if problem persists.
I did not have a problem with the original release. Then I installed the patch and the game started stuttering.

Win 7 64 bit.
I also have Win 7 64-bit and the patch did not fix the problem

Hi everyone,

Could you all do us a small, tiny, teensy favor? Could you write to us about the issues you're having withe the game? Please make sure you submit your DxDiags or the equivalent if you're on a Mac. This will help us and you in the long run. Thanks :D.

Already done. I got a reply back from Genoan from GOG.com support and he suggested the following:

1) Please make sure that you use "Run as Administrator" to install and to start the game (right click on the shortcut or setup file and select "Run as Administrator").

2) Please add the game to your anti-virus/firewall software's exception/trusted list.

3) Please update your graphics device drivers:
http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx

4) Please make sure that your graphics card drivers are not forcing any settings upon the game. To do this, right-click an empty area on your desktop and go to:
Catalyst Control Center -> Gaming -> 3D Application Settings
and click “Defaults”.

Unfortunately, none of these steps have resolved the issue.
On my end I do notice little bits of stuttering/lag but honestly, I feel that it is not game breaking at all in the slightest. If anything I feel the lag kind of helps me in some situations since these games are pretty darn difficult as it is. The tiniest bit of slowdown has helped me dodge waves of bullets in an easier fashion than I would if I played these games in a normal version of MAME.
