Admittedly I am not into racing games; but, when I saw the flash deal, I considered purchasing it. I was looking online, and could not find an answer.....How does one control the vehicle? Is it via joystick? Is that acceptable? Mouse and keyboard? I have those, and do not have any other controlling device. Would I need one? It looks like a great game, so if it does not come up on a flash sale again, I may just ending up purchasing it. Thanks all.
I'm sure a joystick with one hand (to steer) and a keyboard with the other (to accelerate/brake) would work fine. That is, depending on the quality of the joystick. I don't own a HOTAS (a joystick with a throttle control for your other hand), but from what I google it seems to also work well for driving games.

Do you not have a 360 controller? That's what I use for GRID. 360 controllers work with PCs without any need for setup and is completely compatible with many PC games.

Or you can also use a PS3 controller: http://lmgtfy.com/?q=use+PS3+controller+with+pc
Thanks for the reply! I will give the joystick a try, as I am not a fan of the controllers/
I was gonna say I use an Xbox 360 controller. But I just saw that you don't like controllers.

Keyboard works fine. Of course it does require some practice if you don't already game with a keyboard. But don't let lack of a wheel, pad or joystick keep you from GRID. I've been playing it SP since 2008 and it's still the game I spend most my racing time with. With a keyboard.
I played with keyboard for most of the game and then bought a controller just to finish it. Keyboard sucks. It seems that there is no throttle control with a keyboard. Its either nothing or full on acceleration, making it hard to control the car due to wheelspin. Also in a powerful car around a tight turn, tapping accelertion will make the car shoot off the road.

With the controller, the trigger works a like a pedal so you have full control on how hard you accelerate. I feel like I have the car on a string when playing with the controller. But since you don't like them then play with joystick or steering wheel.
