I'm playing the linux version. Path of the sorcerer.
After fighting the monster and the short conversation with Rayford in the crypt the game doesn't continue with Act 2 but instead presents me with the "You're Dead!" window. I've tried playing again from earlier saves but always with the same result.

Does anybody else experience the same issue?

I greatly enjoyed the game up to this point but this behavior is very frustrating.

Edit: It would also be great if someone could post a save-file for a sorcerer at the beginning of act 2.

Hey there - if you send me your saved game from outside the crypt, I can help you with that, no problems. info@infamous-quests.com

Nice!
Here is the save: https://www.dropbox.com/s/0l0byxuusayjw5h/agssave.000?dl=0
Thank you in advance.
I played as brigand, sorcerer and rogue and still have the auto-death problem in the crypt. Are there any solutions against this problem?
So, the Linux builds are unwinnable without a hex edit of the savegame?
Came across the bug. Are there instructions out-there to circumvent it? I can totally hex-edit the save file if needed
I also came across this bug, so I can't play the game anymore :(
Can we expect this bug to be fixed in version 2.0 ?
And I am also playing Linux version - and get automatically this. I even offered Rayford (not crawford, lol) cigar, he still burries me... Its automatic gameover after fight with hummel and roehm picking the box.

Any update on this, Blackthorne? Can you just ship the updated AGS, if the problem was in Linux's version of AGS?
It's pretty unbelievable that a bug of this magnitude could exist in a paid game for over two years. This one is made even worse because it's not completely clear that it's a bug at all when you first come across, you could mistake it for being intentional.

If you want to get by this section yourself you can load the save game in windows or have a friend do it, then go through to act 2 and transfer the save back to linux. The save files seem to be compatible between the platforms.

I wonder if this bug is actually due to AGS version shipped with Linux.

I wonder what happens if we replace AGS with different, more recent version, like blatant copying from free game "Heroine Quest". I have not researched this path yet though.
