I've searched around the forums and it seems like the GOG version is pre-patched but it still contains some bugs. So is it necessary to install the official and unofficial QfG patches like these? I remember encountering a bug in the original QfG3 I own where the game always displays an error message during the Simbani race if you play as a Fighter, so I'd like to avoid this and have my game as bug-free as possible.

Also, I'm pretty sure I had Roland chosen in the audio settings because when I tried playing the game using my original discs (both QfG1 and QfG3) on Win XP the sound was never as good as back on Win 98. Is it possible to make the games run with Roland even though I don't have a Roland card on my modern rigs?
