I completed QFG1 EGA (again) and got the .sav file after the QFG2 preview. I copied the file "c:\glory1.sav" from the QFG1 folder to QFG2 folder (also EGA -- not fan remake) and tried to import and got the same error message about it not being a proper file.

Every time I try to open the file I get the error message about it not being a "proper QFG1 save file". I have tried removing the .sav extension, transferring it to the sequel folder, then renaming it to add the .sav extension. That failed as well.

No, the game is not enhanced with excessive items from debug, etc.

The 1 kB file DOES work as it can easily transfer from the 1st game to the THIRD game but not the second.

The WinRAR suggestion went nowhere. Same for the Sierra official patch (which I then removed).

This is all on GOG purchased games, so

It worked a few years ago.
