Mounting the Quake CD's doesn't do anything regarding the music.
GOG support tells me to use software mode even though software mode has shit performance/resolution options.
They can't help me further if I'm not satisfied with that.
I guess I'll need to be more careful with my purchases in the future. >_<

Have you tried one of the solutions here? The drive with the image must be the first drive alphabetically:
