So there was an update through galaxy a few fours ago, and since then it seems to have forgotten its a GOG version of the game and wont open.
Is anyone else getting this?
Thank you.

I'm having the same issue. You can go into settings and disable auto-updates, and then rollback to the last patch to play while we wait for a fix. Hope that helps.

I had the same issue. I opened the file 'ProjectZomboid64.site.json' using notepad and edited this line, from '"-Dzomboid.steam=1", to '"-Dzomboid.steam=0", saved it and fired up the game. That fixed it.

Thanks Manse. Works.

Worked for me too. This post should be marked as the solution.

Hi,

We've uploaded a new build with the workaround included in this topic so the Windows version should now work correctly out of the box.

My fault, as I relied on Steam to provide a fresh, virgin copy -- forgetting that it wouldn't purge extraneous files. A json file for debugging issues with the GC (.site.json) was left in.

Sorry, everyone. Will keep an eye out for it in the future.

Thanks for getting back to us. And for letting us know. Have a great weekend.
Thank you!
