I downloaded the updated Timeshock, but there are two problems:

1. This is supposed to be the Windows version? Why are the two highest resolutions grayed out on my configuration menu then?
2. The music does not change correctly, when I start a mode it will keep playing the normal music and not change to reflect the mode I'm playing. This may have to do with the performance, I'm not sure.

Also, the performance seems to be off too, because the ball moves slower even when I pick lower amounts of colors/detail.

PLEASE fix this or someone please give me a solution!

I can confirm the music bug. It uses the same track through everything in the game until it stops, then when you go to the sound test whatever track you choose plays the same way as before.

As for the performance, do you have it set in compatibility mode? I have all of my Pro Pinball games set to Win 98, and all issues with that are instantly fixed.

I am not sure about number 1, does your card support those resolutions?

Also, please, please, I can't repeat this enough: write to our Support department when issues like these pop up. Thanks :)
I'm having the same music issue in Win7 64bit, tried several compatibility modes to no avail.

Same here with the Windows version on 7x64. However the DOS version seems to play the music correctly, but i want the play with Windows higher res modes.

First I must say Thank You to GOG for making available and keep updating one of my all time favorite games. I appreciate that!

Here is a temporary solution that will make the DOS version running in Hi-Res with the music synced to the play mode.

1. Install the new GOG version of Pro Pinball Timeshock!
2. Download GOG.TS.HiRes.zip from mediafire.com/download/mbk353oc7uymt2h/GOG.TS.HiRes.zip
3. Replace the files in the game folder with the files from the archive
4. Start the dos version of Timeshock

This will enable the High Resolution options in the game menu (see attached picture). I have found it's best to work in 1280 x 1024 with 65.000+ colors. This makes it ideal to play in window mode on a Full HD 1920 x 1080 monitor and not stretch the picture. Just press ALT + Enter to switch to window mode.

What this does is basically replacing the DosBOX with another version that has HiRes VESA modes enabled and 8 MB of video memory.

I've also had to replace the pptime.inst file that tells DosBOX how to read the music. The people at GOG found a very smart solution how to use compressed music instead of AUDIO CD for the in-game music. Unfortunately this version of DosBOX doesn't support it, that is why I got back to the original pptime.inst file.

Thanks goes to tomba4 and his post gog.com/forum/pro_pinball_series/dosbox_hires_settings about DosBOX MB6 that gave me the idea to replace it.

In the audio options there should be a setting about how CD audio starts or changes its tracks. Messing around with one of those settings had fixed it for me.
I used Vladimir's mounting method (with the new pptime.inst file) on my own Windows version I got off ebay (I tried the GOG version for Windows but without any luck) and now both visuals and audio work perfectly. If you ask me, the GOG version is bugged!
May anyone upload these music fix filex again? Link is dead :(

Upload the file again please, the link is dead and I want that resolution pack.
Any update on this?
The patch file doesn't seem to be available anymore.

I was looking for another solution and there is a workaround to make the DOS version of GOG Pro Pinball TimeShock! to run in High Resolution and with with the Music playing. It works on both Mac and Windows.

It requires an alternative version of DOSBox that has support for Higher DOS Resolution, called DOSBox Staging.

Here is the step by step procedure:

1. Download and install the GOG version of Pro Pinball Timeshock!
2. Download DOSBox Staging from its official website
3. Find the DOSBox Staging configuration file:

The file is called "dosbox-staging.conf" and is located in:
(Windows) C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\DOSBox\
(Linux) ~/.config/dosbox/
(macOS) ~/Library/Preferences/DOSBox/

4. Open the "dosbox-staging.conf" in a plain text editor and change these settings from the defaults to:

[dosbox]
memsize = 128
vmemsize = auto

[mouse]
mouse_capture = nomouse

[mixer]
rate = 44100
blocksize = 1024
prebuffer = 80

[sblaster]
sbtype = sb16
sbbase = 220
irq = 5
dma = 1
hdma = 5
sbmixer = true
sbwarmup = 100
oplmode = auto
sb_filter = auto
sb_filter_always_on = false

5. At the end of the file, we need to add the location of the installed GOG Pro Pinball Timeshock! game and the audio image for the music. Please make sure to replace the location below with the folder where you have the game installed.

This is an example for Mac where the folder is inside GOG Games in the User's folder:

[autoexec]
mount C "/Users/YourName/GOG Games/Pro Pinball - Timeshock/"
imgmount d "/Users/YourName/GOG Games/Pro Pinball - Timeshock/pptime.inst" -t iso
c:
shock.exe

This is an example for Windows where the folder is in C:\GOG Games\:

[autoexec]
mount C "C:\GOG Games\Pro Pinball - Timeshock"
imgmount d "C:\GOG Games\Pro Pinball - Timeshock\pptime.inst" -t iso
c:
shock.exe

6 Save the dosbox-staging.conf and start the DOSBox Staging app

7. It should automatically open the game. Go to the Options inside the game and choose your resolution

That's it!

This procedure works if you want to play the GOG version of the game on either Mac or Windows.

I've attached a screenshot of the game settings for reference. I can't seem to attach an example configuration file though, as it accepts only images.
