Hope GOG adds these and the users who bought the DOS versions gets them for free or at a discount.
Naah, they should be compensated for their work. I'll gladly buy ALL THE TABLES again.
Wonderful! I hope the campaign will be a success! :)
...HOLY SHIT.

Take my money, Cunning Developments/Silverball Studios. Take it all!

It's been roughly 15 years, and the Pro Pinball series is STILL the standard against which I compare all other video pinball games, even with stiff competition from studios like FarSight.

"This won't be a quick and dirty job, we want every pixel on these new displays to be perfect as can be, so to do that we will be remodelling all the original tables from scratch in extreme detail!"

Apparently, they are also creating a new engine (see e.g. the lighting demo) and will support cross-platform high scores: "Unified world-wide high score leaderboards"

So... there's plenty of reason why these should be viewed as independent games.
Although a slight discount of 20% or so sure would make people feel rewarded for their long-time fandom and help with sales (not just because of the price but also the bonus to their reputation).

I don't know... at least on Android, those tables look like crap. Maybe they did that on purpose, to be compatible with old phones. But considering the power most Android devices have, I very much doubt that the textures would have to be that blurry.
Also... haptic feedback on touch screens obviously sucks. And they're not available for Windows yet.

That's why The Pinball Arcade hasn't displaced Pro Pinball in my book yet.

I'm hoping that it fares better on X360 and PS3 for the simple reason of PHYSICAL CONTROLS and maybe not having really blurry textures...oh, wait, almost forgot there's a Mac OS X version too that would share those advantages. I'm honestly surprised that they'd release an OS X version way before a Windows one, given where the computer gaming market lies.

That said, FarSight clearly puts a lot of effort into what they do, almost as much as Silverball did years ago.
Ugh; I almost missed the new campaign, and there's only a week to go. Bumping these old threads so that people who posted to them will be more likely to see them.
