Is the controller issue fixed finally? D:
Awesome, thanks! :D I've always had that bug since I got the game on disc back when it first came out, and it happened on both my PC's (both had nVidia cards) so now I'm looking forward to playing it again with the fog on so I can see what it was originally supposed to look like :D

I'd like to know this too :) I find it playable with the keyboard but it seems like it would be easier with a gamepad, so I was disappointed when my 360 gamepad didn't work (he only runs going forward, but if I try to run diagonally then he abruptly starts walking even though the stick is fully pushed).

Edit: Also, out of curiosity have Warrior Within and Two Thrones ever been patched? I can't seem to find anything about that, but I'd like to know if any changes have been made to those as well. Thanks :)

I've just tested with an Xbox 360 controller (actually, a DS3 being simulated as a 360 controller), and I can say that I don't have any issues whatsoever with using it for gameplay. Movement with the analog stick is entirely seamless and running speeds work regardless of which direction is pressed. It should work the same on an actual 360 controller. Hope that helps!

Edit: Oh, seems like you figured out your problems in another thread. Regardless, the controller works fine with this game.

Thanks :) And yes, I found a solution involving recalibrating the 360 gamepad in Control Panel.

During the calibration screen there's a square which shows the stick's range of motion and originally mine was set so it could move in a perfect circle inside the square, which most games seems seem to be fine with.

I followed the directions to only push the stick ~halfway while calibrating so now it is able to fill the whole square on the calibration screen, and now Sands of Time is recognizing the diagonal movements properly.

I still think this is an error with how Sands of Time handles it (or at least a difference from modern standards) but at least there's a workaround. I haven't tested my gamepad in newer games yet so I don't know if I just messed up the calibration for newer games, but I can always recalibrate it later if I have to :)

It wouldn't be that surprising if analog stick definitions for computer controllers have changed over the last decade, so you may have a point.

I haven't had to mess with calibration at all, not even when I first connected the controller. Kinda strange you'd have to do it with an actual 360 controller. Oh well, at least it's working for you now!

Thanks for the heads-up! That was really an annoying bug, I've never been able to play that game.

Quick question: I noticed that the new installer is 35 MB smaller than the old one. Was anything taken out?

No. It's just a matter of better compression.
Thanks! :)
Cool game :)
First time I play it...

The fog bug doesn't seem to be fixed. I only saw it in the main menu but I turned the fog off immediately because I'm not taking any chances.

EDIT: I've now been playing the game and the fog bug definitely is not fixed. It fills the screen and you can't see where you're going, just like in the previous installer. And I did use the new one.
