stealthjoe: Hello,
Could you please get me the full guide to setup the game using Dgvoodoo2? I tried using it. Although the game works, the videos don't play and is blank with only the sounds. I would love to atleast have the videos play in full screen windowed and the game in full screen (1080x1920) if possible. Need your help on this. Thanks.
Dalthnock: Yeah, dgVoodoo2 has a problem with some videos. They know it, hopefully it will be fixed eventually. Could you please get me the full guide to setup the game using Dgvoodoo2? There's a better, simpler way for some games, and it works great for Prince of Persia 3D. Download the latest version of this file, the experimental one, the v0.2.1 does not work with PoP3d. https://github.com/narzoul/DDrawCompat/releases
Then just unzip it to the main directory. That's it!
By the way, there's a couple of textures that don't load, except from the CD. I've tried lots of things, but nothing works. The simplest solution is to make an image of the 2nd disc and mount it with Daemon-Tools or something like that.
Thank you for the link. I had previously used this ddraw.dll on my Windows 8.1 desktop and it worked fine although with very little lag. However, when I use this dll in my Windows 10 laptop, Prince of Persia 3D crashes to the desktop immediately after the RedOrb intro video. Tried setting few compatibility modes but to no avail. Any other settings I have to make to get this working under Win 10?
