I just got an automatic update on Primordia, adding support for more languages, which is great, but now I found my previously saved games cannot be loaded at all (even using the same language)

Is there any way to make the existing saved games work with the latest Primordia version ?
If not, can I somehow install a previous version of the game ?

Don't tell me I have to play the entire game from the beginning again !

This update actually did more than add support for more languages. The game engine was updated and several other things were changed as described by the game's update log on steam:

As a result of these changes, save files from the old game engine aren't compatible with the new one. Since you got an automatic update, I'm assuming you're using GOG Galaxy. If you are, you should be able to rollback to a previous version by following these instructions:

Correct -- breaking the saves was unavoidable given the changes we made, but the changes are so important for the longterm longevity of the game, we decided to impose that cost on our existing players. How can I continue playing where I left off (saved games) in the Linux version? It's not downloadable anymore and I seem to have lots the backup offline installer.
