I just got Primordia for Ubuntu, and am really enjoying it. However, the game will freeze after about 15-20 minutes of play, and I have to send a kill signal to the program. It is just the game freezing; not the whole system.

Anyone else have this problem? Any solutions? The game version is 2.0.0.2.

Here are my system specs:
Kubuntu 14.04
Intel Integrated 82Q35 Graphics
4 GB Ram
Quad Core Intel Processor

Update: I started running this from the terminal by directly invoking ~/GOG Games/Primordia/start.sh to see if I could capture any diagnostic info, and since then it hasn't frozen. I played for multiple hours last night. I have no idea why that would matter, but I'll continue to update on what I find in the output and also syslog/messages if it does crash again.

Thanks for working out this solution and sharing it with others. Sorry I didn't see your message earlier -- posts in this forum have gotten infrequent enough that I don't check it as regularly as I should.
I still got freezing problems, but switched letterbox=0 to letterbox=1, and the gfxdriver to DX5 and was able complete the game. Maybe the letterboxing and DirectDraw works better on my low end card?

I used this as a reference to tinker with the config (translates well to english): wiki.ubuntuusers.de/Adventure_Game_Studio/

Anyway, very much enjoyed the game, it's great to have titles like this for Linux.

I am running Kubuntu 14.04 on an i7-860 and Nvidia 750 GTX. The game seemed to work without any problems for me, so I might make a wild guess that it is a graphics driver issue for you? I am not familiar with the Intel 82Q35. From wiki, it looks like it might have come with a Core 2 processor and been tied to a Integrated GMA 3100 graphics chip.

Not sure why that would be a problem, but it is getting a little older now...
