The game will start, and it will show up in the dock area, but once the icon appears, the actual GAME never appears. It doesn't give any sort of error message. It just sits there, not doing anything.

Support is that way. Some system information might be relevant. Does the initial launcher show up, how did you install this and what version are you using?

Yeah, unfortunately I don't have any means to help with Mac problems because they're running through GOG's front-end, which we have nothing to do with. If you could submit a support ticket, that would be great. If they can't fix it, let me know and I'll try bugging my GOG contacts and see what can happen. If nothing else, I'm sure we can get you a refund. Sorry not to be of more help.
MacOS 10.11.3 system profile information wont upload to the support ticket. Same issue here... getting a bit hacked off with it now

Try a different browser?
Alternatively, attach an empty dxdiag.txt (should accept any .txt file) to the ticket. Then reply to the automated email attaching the system profile log.

Do you see the initial launcher or does it freeze before then? Also, how did you install the game?
I'm going to reach out to GOG myself and hopefully get someone to respond here.

Hi,

Can you try running the game from the terminal and paste the terminal output here? In the meantime, I'll ask our Mac techs to look into this issue :)
I'm also having this same issue with Primordia on my Macbook Pros (I also tried Resonance and had the same issue, as I assumed I would).

I submitted a support ticket, and I'll try to update this thread with the results so that anyone else that finds this thread knows the outcome - since I found this thread but didn't see an outcome :)
Okay. So, it turns out that the issue is that I'm running High Sierra, and that caused a known issue with WineSkin.

The GOG Support Team helped me get the game running!

This is what I did, based on info given to me, but I'm honestly not sure if #1 and #2 were necessary:

1.) Install Wineskin Winery from here:
http://wineskin.urgesoftware.com/tiki-index.php?page=Downloads

2.) Start the application and use it to download additional versions of Wine (by clicking +). I downloaded WS9Wine2.8 because that looked like the latest, but I'm not sure if the version matters.

3.) Now, right click the game from GOG, select Show Package Contents, go to Contents > Resources > game, right-click the game's app select Show Package Contents and open Wineskin.app (not right-click).

4.) You'll see a window pop-up. Go to Set Screen Options, and uncheck the Auto Detect GPU for Direct 3D option.

5.) I was then able to run Primordia from GOG Galaxy, and it worked!

Glad it's sorted out! Sorry that I wasn't around to chime in before the problem was resolved!
I followed steps 3-5 and now the game works on my Mac Air with High Sierra....BUT...I cannot name my saves?! Is the software not seeing the keyboard?

griddiho:
Maybe check with GOG support team. I hate to say it, but since none of the development team has a Mac, and none of us worked on the GOG frontend, I just don't know how to help.

Sounds similar to this.
