Here's another question. I made my character Spanish because most colonies are Spanish. A while ago, however, I turned Dutch - I didn't consciously do anything that might cause this. The Frenchies hate me because I attack their ships and currently the Spanish and English don't allow me into their ports. How can I become a Spaniard once more?

It's a downer because there are only five Dutch colonies and I have businesses in the Spanish port of Margarita.

Perhaps this isn't such a problem. It costs less than 10,000 gold to change the attitude of a country to neutral. I thought that perhaps your own country wouldn't turn on you, but I found out it can. I think it was attacking French ports that did it. I'd still like to know the answer in case there's some factor I haven't considered.
