I have put together a ZIP file that should resolve some of the issues experienced with Police Quest: SWAT 2, motivation born from having the original '70s "SWAT" show playing on my laptop while I'm working my technical support shift at Apple, while remotely trying to set up SWAT 2. From this work, I've determined some things:

-In my laptop's Windows 7 environment (by extension Windows Vista), the colors are washed out in the tactical portion with the executable that came with SWAT 2 in the GOG package. Typical of a common DirectDraw rendering issue. Standard resolution with a community-made DirectDraw tool and a registry patch did not resolve the problem. Replacing the executable with the one from my physical SWAT 2 CD-ROM did however.

-After replacing this executable, the cutscenes would not play, even if I put the original executable back in. Converting the cutscenes through the XVID codec did allow them to play though.

-SWAT 2 did not come with a manual in its release and my CD-ROM has three pieces of documentation in PDF format.

With that said, as mentioned earlier, I uploaded a ZIP file containing my original SWAT 2 CD's SWAT.EXE, the cutscenes in XVID format and the three pieces of documentation in PDF format. That can be downloaded at http://cy-fox.com/swat/swat2/SWAT2Fixes.zip

I've sent a support ticket to GOG support to have them independently verify if this will work across a multiple array of systems, and if so, I've requested that they use these resources. In the interim, here they are. Make good use of them, Pup because these resources will help you survive on the street. [/Sergeant Rooker voice]

No toilets in Lucy Long's house were flushed in the making of this package. At least by me, Dixon might've.
Thanks for putting this together! Just what I was looking for!
Thanks, seems to work fine on my Win 7 laptop.
Man, you are awesome, now I can hear those movies at last. Thanks!

Thanks the patch got the videos playing and the color looks better in game! But I still have no sound in the videos that lead up to the missions... Any suggestions?

Link is broken
It would be amazing if this .zip could get reposted. I'm having trouble getting the gog version working in windows 8.1
I will need to recompile and upload it since my old webhost shut down.

That would be great, thanks! Couldn't GOG just add it to their release too?

Now that you mentioned it, I'd of sworn I sent the package to them when I put it together.
Why isn't GOG doing anything about this? and most importantly why isn't it possible to contact support? They play the game of hide and seek. Thumbs down to GOG playing this game to avoid contact.

You think I didn't try? It keeps on returning me to the forum.

Were you logged in? It brings the form up for me. The link through your library is broken for unbundled games.
