Is my understanding that the Back to Hell/Extended Time cars will not work with the GOG version of Pod as they are not 3dfx? They're not showing up in my cdpatcher.

Kennosuke:
The downloads for the BTH expansion cars and tracks available on my website are working just fine with my GOG installation of POD Gold. They are both 3DFX and non-3DFX versions in each zip, from what I remember.
Alright, sorry about that. I figured out my problem. It turned out that when I extracted them, they all extracted into the folder instead of their own pre-created folders. This resulted in the voitures file being overwritten over and over, and as such Pod Patcher did not recognized the cars. I had 7zip extract them to appropriately named folders instead, and all was dandy. Sorry about that!

Fantastic work, man. I'd love to see more of these old, more obscure games get the kind of attention you've given to POD.

phreakindee: First off, I want to say THANK YOU to everyone involved with getting POD Gold on GOG! One of my absolute favorites as a kid, and still one I love to go back and play today.

If anyone wants more content for the game, whether it be official DLC, fan-made tracks, updates, tweaks, or whatever else, there's a website called POD Phreak that has it all.

And yes, it's maintained by myself. I only post it here because this game has a ton of great content, and my site is one of the very last few remaining for the game, so if you couldn't locate the old cars from UbiSoft's servers this is the place to go.

Let me know if any links are dead, I'll restore them. Looking forward to seeing how much of the extra content can be installed to your GOG versions. So far I've had total success, using the instructions found here. Happy podding!
Thank for sharing this but i like to notify you there is some bug regarding those boat and special vehicle from the expansion pack; if you press reset button at load car option to sort back your car to their original place. You'll notice your base car will appear twice, and if there are two same car the game will crash just right before the game started, i need to delete my DATA folder to solve this problem or else PoD can't even launched. But this problem doesn't appear when i only installed those 8 packs bike.

(I assume back to Hell came with 15 vehicles as stated on wikipedia; that are 8 bikes and 7 special cars)

EDIT: Ok, i just discover that reset is buggy, i think maybe it has something to do with programming / value.

Slizzo: I'm having a problem with CDPatcher2 for Pod, every time I try to click on a car to install it immediately clicks off of it so I can't highlight it to install it. Can delete cars just fine, just can't install them.

Game runs fine on it's own too. Anyone know why I can't do this?

phreakindee: Yes, I had that issue until I changed the CD Patcher 2 to use Windows 95 compatibility mode.
I already have tried that, still doesn't work for me. :(
Anybody know how to disable reset button on load car option permanently? This thing can be extremely dangerous if you have 20+ cars.

Do you have the iceberg track on your sites? What is the name of the track? I saw few screenshot of them, looks interesting.

Yes, the name of the track is Iceberg, it's under the tracks section.

I came across the reset button issue today, fortunately it is easy to fix the resulting corruption if you have backup copies of the following files:

[POD Folder]/Data/Binary/Scripts/voitures.bin
[POD Folder]/Data/Binary/Scripts/voiture2.bin

Just replace these 2 files with the backup copy. If you've no backup, I'd suggest reinstalling POD to another directory and replacing these with the original copies - you'll lose any extra cars you added though.

Thanks for the info. I'll try this later.

And for cars... well, I'm guess you can see it by yourself : there are 52 officials cars, and only 16 of them are on gog.

It is part of the official add-on.

Do you mean it is already in GOG's POD Gold and I miss it?

No, the cars and tracks of "Back to Hell" ("Extended Time" in France) are not included in POD Gold and not available on GOG.
