In pinball fantasies, the shift key doesn't move the flippers. Ctrl and alt keys do, but if I remember correctle, the shift keys should as well (and are in a more comfortable position on the keyboard to play pinball IMO). I haven't tried the other games yet, though.

Yep, doesn't work for me out-of-the-box either, the solution is to delete (or rename) the file "mapper.txt" in the folder "fantasies_tables", that makes the shift keys work just like in the good old times, it looks like the keys are not mapped correctly in that mapper.txt file or something like that. :\
I got the Shift keys to work by pressing Ctrl+F1. It opens up a key mapper tool. Then I just clicked the left Ctrl button and pressed "Add" button, and then pressed the left Shift button. After that I did the same to the other Ctrl button. Save and exit and it should work just fine.
Nevermind. Had a problem but it was between chair and screen.

Ctrl and alt keys worked for me too. Remapping shift to shift worked too (no need to map ctrl/alt).

Its not working for me. I tried what you guys suggested and it does not work. Perhaps GOG forgot to take out the copy protection ?
Nope, it's really just the wrong mapping... it's the same for Fantasies/Mania and for Dreams too btw, haven't tested Illusions yet... I wonder why it hasn't been addressed by the GOG team yet.

They have a customized DosBox mapper file in each folder (mapper.txt) which seems to not
have the Shift keys mapped properly. Deleting those mapper.txt files (in all the folders where
necessary) will solve the problem. If you're playing Dreams, delete it in "dream1_tables" and
"dream2_tables" folders, if you're playing Fantasies/Mania - in the "fantasies_tables" folder, and if you're playing Illusions - in the "illusions_tables" folder. ;)
First of all, my apologies for committing necromancy on this thread, but it seems a bit silly to create a new post, as the solution to this bug is no longer valid in current installs.

I'd mark this as a regression bug.
The mapper.txt file does not exist with present installs and Shift still does not work here.
Win7 Pro, 64Bits version.

Did you try post 3 or 4?
SHIFT keys were remapped on purpose, to avoid problems with Windows Sticky Keys function popping up. Keys can be remapped inside the game, so it's not really a bug.

Oddly the game works just fine in Fantasties. But not Dreams. (Haven't tried the others yet)

I remapped them in-game. Still does nothing.

Edit: Nevermind I was trying to test the flippers before launching the ball (Like fantasties allows, and every other pinball game on the planet)

Hello together,

using GOG Galaxy and Windows 10.

The offered solutions don*t work for me.

Post 6: There is only one mapper.txt - deleting or renaming it has no effect.

Post 3: Remapping the keys has no effect, too.

Edit:
Pinball Fantasies: Left Flipper: Left Ctrl. The Alt Gr Key controls both flippers. No control for the right flipper only.
Pinball Dreams & Mania: Left Flipper: Left Ctrl. and Alt Gr. No control for the right flipper.
Pinball Illusions: Works like a charm.

Any other ideas?

BR
