Hi,

as just added the Tales of Maj'Eyal I bought on their website to my steam account, and it was a hassle at all, I was wondering if something like that can be done with games bought on GoG as well? Is there a way to get codes for Steam games here or link purchases done in the GoG store to Steam?

I'm particularly interested in Pillars of Eternity, so that's why I'm posting this here. Hope that 's ok :)
Nope, can't be done. GOG is a direct competition to Steam, so while you can rarely activate Steam games on GOG, I've never seen the possibility to activate a GOG game on Steam - some developers will send you a Steam key if you ask them based on your GOG purchase, but I actually tried contacting Obsidian with a request for a key and Obsidian has refused said request (which is perfectly fine, they're not obliged in any way to do this)

Edit: "I actually tried sending Obsidian with a request for just that and Obsidian has refused me" - I'm preserving this sentence in its original form to have something to scare children with.

That's sort of what I expected, and it's cool, yeah.

Thank you.
I got Steam keys through the GOG version of Arma 2. But that was years ago, though, and GOG doesn't even sell the game any more.
You can however add any GOG to Steam through the "/Games/Add a Non-Steam Game to my Library" option like I did with Original Sin and Risen 3 to use them with Big Picture Mode. You can use the Steam overlay, but you get neither achievements nor trading cards.

Hi,

I will never understand people desperate to tie their games to Steam. Alright, I could not care less about this achievement nonsense ;-). I am glad for every game I can buy without going through either Steam, Origin, or Uplay. At the end of the day, all of them are a bloody drag. The only difference where e.g. Steam is worth considering is when for example multiplayer only works through their stuff. However, as I am a solo player pretty much 99% of the time it is not really that important to me.

Cheers

Well if there's a remote possibility of having a game on both GOG and Steam, why not ask?
