Greetings,

I have PoE v1.0.4.0540 installed on my Mac running Mavericks (10.9.5).

When I launch dlc_pillars_of_eternity_preorder_2.1.0.6.pkg to install the DLC it gets admin creds and proceeds to "Running package scripts" then throws up a dialog box saying "Installation failed. Game not found."

So I launched PoE, fiddled with some settings, then quit and tried again. Got the same failure.

Suggestions?

The DLC executable is in the same directory/folder/whateverAppleCallsIt that the game is in?

The DLC installer (.pkg) was not. But I just dragged it into the same Folder and tried again and got the same Installation failed message.

You might try downloading it again. Other than that, you need an Apple guy to help. I am ignorant.

Spotlight disabled? & [url=https://www.gog.com/forum/pillars_of_eternity/mac_patch_is_for_wrong_game_version_wont_install/post22]here.
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!

I did have Spotlight disabled for my home directory. After removing it from the Privacy panel in Spotlight and waiting a few minutes for it to re-index the DLC patch applied just fine.

The mdimport command looked great but didn't do anything as I had my home added to the Privacy panel in Spotlight. And I see that's also in the thread you reference.

Then I was going to mention that Apple's package installer lets you choose not only a different disk but also to specify which folder to check for the App but I see someone also mentioned that.

All of that would fit nicely under the Mac Troubleshooting FAQ. Didn't see it there when I checked yesterday. I'm going to be selfish tonight and put my Divinity Original Sin replay aside and check out PoE. :-) But I'll make a note to check out how to get GOG to add a new entry to the FAQ if it doesn't show up by this weekend.

Thanks again!

Cheers, and they should simply roll a new patch with the fallback path. The 1.5 update being a month or two out.
