I got about 10 hours into this game on the Gamepass version and started getting glitches. Decided that maybe the Gamepass was some different less patched version and bought the game on GOG. The game recognizes my save files, but when I go to load it it will only load the area my save was in. No party or npcs load. The game is stuck on pause, and menus show placeholder texts everywhere. Is there a way to get these saves to work, or am I stuck re-doing 10 hours of gameplay again?

This is for PoE 1 btw.

The Gamepass version seems to be based on the Xbox version of the game, which uses a newer version of the Unity framework. The way the game serializes the character and level state means that they aren't backwards compatible with every other PC version of the game, which use an older Unity version. This fix converts the new serialization into the old format.
