I had purchased the DLC after having the game and it doesn't show me as having the deathinitive edition...

It doesn't show this, but technically you have the Definitive Edition. You should have all the bonus goodies that DE includes. If not, try to add the free DLCs to your account. After that you should have everything.

I guess that is like what happened when I upgraded Tropico 5.
