I'm currently midway through the Men-nefer (Memphis) mission, and I got a request for beer from my trading partner, Perwadjyt. I already had plenty of beer in stock, so it only took me a month to collect the balance, but I can't figure out how to give it to them. When I set up the trade route, it wouldn't allow me to export anything, only to import. If I click on a commodity in the Commerce screen, there's a button on the left that says "Click to import", but in the space to the right of that button it says "No buyers for this resource." Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Did you hit stockpile?

I started stockpiling beer once I got the request, but it doesn't seem to make a difference. I wasn't able to export beer before I started stockpiling, either. The only good it'll let me export is papyrus, and that goes to a different city which I haven't made a trade route to. When I click on Perwadjyt on the world map, the "Bought" area at the bottom right of the screen is empty.
Loaded up the map to remember. That is when you first get trade routes. Papyrus is the main export. You should actually have too much.

It is a training City (early) and I don't think you can sell beer, only the Papyrus.

As for answering requests from the Pharaoh go to the Political Oversight Advisor. There should be a tab that you click to send the goods.

And making sure you respond within the time is always a good idea in the game.

I have enough papyrus that I probably *could* export some of it -- if I could spare the money to open another trade route. Which I can't at the moment, but I might be able to soon, so I should probably think about doing that. The most essential use of trade routes in that mission, however, is to import bricks to build a mastaba, because it doesn't give you access to brickworks to make your own.

I would never have thought to look there. Though now that I take a closer look, the message with the request does have a little icon at the bottom linking to your political advisor. Anyhow, I'm well aware of the value of fulfulling requests on time, due to playing Caesar III prior to Pharaoh. IIRC, in that game the message that pops up telling you when you have enough to meet the request has a button right there on it asking you if you want to send the goods.

Anyway, thanks for your help!
That will be a tough City to complete w/o starting to sell Papyrus ASAP. Might require you to go to a save before picking a trade route.

Good luck
It may be tough without selling papyrus, but it's impossible without buying bricks. I don't think I need to go back that far; I may try going back to just before I started building my mastaba, and use the money to open a second trade route instead. That should hopefully help me start turning a profit sooner, and I can stockpile bricks while I'm waiting for my coffers to refill, so that when I *do* start on the mastaba, the work will go faster.
