I finally got it installed but when I click for the game to start, it flicks black for a second and nothing happens. I know there is a lot of instafreeze but what about instacrash?

Same happened to me, what worked for me is this post:http://www.gog.com/en/forum/pharaoh_cleopatra/instafreeze/post12
I had this problem as well. After exhausting every solution I could find on here and in the support section, (including buying Zeus only for it's mss32.dll) I contacted support and gave them my dxdiag. They suggested that I install an older version of my graphics card driver, (specifically; AMD Catalyst 11.1) and run a clean boot. While this by itself didn't fix the problem, I tried changing my screen resolution to 800x600. I had attempted changing the resolution or using the widescreen patches before, but never met with a successful launch. Now, both Pharaoh and Zeus run fine at those resolutions. I haven't tried running the widescreen fixes, but I assume those will allow me to run the games at my computer's normal resolution (1360x768).
