Wohoo!
Thank you!
That is a noice new version! :)
Not that it's anything out of the ordinary in regards to gog getting the short end of the stick and traditionally less and less attention or forum activity from devs post-release but no patch notes for 1.08 here while the other platform is properly informed asap makes you wonder.

Wonder if the devs still read the threads for bug reports and especially general feedback or suggestions at all.
The Feedback one is full of excellent suggestions for toggles or options which should be relatively easy to implement but as far as I can tell none of it has been realized (yet), despite a fair amount of people having expressed agreement on the improvement said toggles or options would provide.
Is the "Halloween Update" supposed to be our "1.0.8" patch as well? Because that's the only file listed as 1.0.8 - there's currently no "1.0.7_to_1.0.8" installer.

Or is this, as I suspect, another case of the installers lagging behind Galaxy?

Extremely sorry for the delay - we're a bit short-handed right now. Let me assure you that we're reading the suggestions posted on these boards and appreciate all your effort. In terms of the implementation of QoL improvements, that was not the last update... ;)

GOG received the exact same patch as Steam did (in terms of the scope), so if you have the Halloween content available in-game, you have the most recent version of Phantom Doctrine.

Have a great day!

Well, still no sign of the 1.0.7_to_1.0.8 offline patch installer.
And just installing the DLC obviously is not updating the base game to 1.0.8 as well. The data compression method capable of squeezing several GB (last patch was almost 3GB iirc) into a 40MB file archive hasn't been invented yet, as far as I know.

If the patch could be made available before the weekend, that'd be great.

To add confirmation to this - please add the 1.0.7_to_1.0.8 patch. I too installed the Halloween DLC on top of 1.0.7 - based on the above developer answer, I expected this to take it to 1.0.8 (but was very dubious, due to the small file sized) - but it stayed at 1.0.7 (not really a surprise). I haven't checked to see if the Halloween stuff was added, but there definitely weren't any of the additional available options in the options menu...

Please add this - I know I can get this via Galaxy, but I have all previous patches saved, and I'd like to do the same with this one (since I'd prefer not to have to download the full 1.0.8 version if possible).
No way around downloading those ~14GB again, I'm afraid:
Unfortunately we were unable to create and publish that patch due to technical issues with it. Please redownload and reinstall the whole game installer.
I apologise for the inconvenience.

Regards,
GOG.com Support

Dang. Oh well, I guess I'll update with Galaxy and then grab the offline installers later on.

Modding and Localization Guide

Agents, below you will find all the details necessary to have some fun with modding Phantom Doctrine, alter the texts in the game or add new localizations.

Modding summary:

- A plethora of game parameters can now be accessed and modded via .csv files to provide new gameplay experience with Phantom Doctrine
- Custom agent portraits can be loaded into the game
- Standard enemies can have their outfit presets changed
- You may modify images, texts and parameters of the existing sidestories or even create your new sidestory events to add some interesting context to the main plot
- You may modify all in-game text or create your own localization, however, it will be a bit more tricky

Official guide can be accessed here

Localization:

Editing the localization file is a bit more tricky and requires Unreal Engine 4.19 (please make sure to use this specific version). You can grab it here after setting up your account: https://www.unrealengine.com/en-US/download.

If this requirement does not put you off, a detailed guide can be accessed here

Happy modding, Agents! Oh, and please make sure to share your work with the others on our Official Discord Server in the #modding channel!
