so they are making a movie about the game. I think. Should be interesting!
wow never thought i'd see the day! guess this is the next best thing to a third game. They need to add more scary stuff to the beginning chapters, and more scenes of don being a nice guy before he gets possessed etc for it to translate well into a movie however. hopefully the movie will be what the game should have been!
i had never played this game although I knew about it since release. I guess before seeing the movie I should pick up this game.

Really surprised me. Found it by accident while searching for an actress who was in one episode of Dharma and Greg. The one who plays professor Sprout in HP movies.
funnily enough it was hunting this game that lead me to this site. I played this game when i was 14 back in 95. very gory. hopefully the film will resemble the first game. and hopefully it will not be lke a saw film. cant wait.
I think my mind is officially blown. If this isn't a case of digging through the buried trove of games to make a cinematic adaption, I don't know what is.

Looks like they've got a facebook thing up and it'll be a mid range production company making it. The name of the facebook is PhantasmagoriaBCP (since for some reason I can't post links)
Hell yes! I hope they also make a 3rd game to go along with this. I would fucking LOVE it.
I Kinda wish they based it on Puzzle Of Flesh I felt that was a far more entertaining yet cheesy story IMHO but this one is more well known and Roberta Williams name is all over it so ya more attractive to get made into a movie.......besides the cut scenes of Puzzle were good enough to BE a movie already.

Thank GOD this isn't a Uwe Boll movie though!

Agreed 100%
Wow, didn't expect that news! I'm guessing this might be a direct-to-dvd type feature, but I'd still be interested to watch it nonetheless.
Wow I am super excited about this movie. I played this game way back in the day as well, and always appreciated what I consider a unique and strong beginning, middle, and end story. A movie could be so much more robust and do some wonderful justice to the original story. Maybe we will even find out what was floating in the air above the baby crib.
Hot diggity!

Phantasmagoria: The Movie

Black Castle Productions First Feature - Phantasmagoria: The Movie
Black Castle Productions officially launched at the beginning of July to fill the gap between low budget independent features and studio films. A partnership between, Producer Sabrina Cooper, Producer/Director Stacey Haid and Cinematographer Jeremy Noggles, the company will produce films in all genres, including horror, thriller, romantic comedy, documentaries and drama, with budgets that range between $5-10 million.

The inaugural slate of Black Castle Productions films includes: Phantasmagoria: The Movie a thriller with traces of horror and mystery following a young married couple who inherits an old Southern plantation, once owned by an eccentric 19th Century magician.

Phantasmagoria is co-produced by AFI alumnus Nikit Doshi and directed by the multiple award-winning Writer/Director Steven Shea. “As a huge fan of the game when I was in high school, we are all very excited to bring this film to life. We have taken what was great about the game and tweaked it just a bit. The changes we made were not only to help it cross over to film but also to update it for today’s audience who might not know about the game,” says Sabrina, producer of Phantasmagoria: The Movie. “We also have a few surprises up our sleeves, some things that actually have never been done before in our industry! Like I said, as fans of the game, we are all pretty excited about this project.”
The confirmed cast so far:
Kelly Overton as Adrienne
Mischa Barton as Marie
Miriam Margolyes as Harriet
Can't wait to see Mischa in this! She was great in 'Walled In'
I don't even:
Based on the cult hit video game which introduced the “choose your own adventure” game play style, there will be two completely different versions of the film, using the same characters and initial opening but then following a different, unique, twisted adventure with opposite outcomes.

Adventure 1: the horror-salvation version / Adventure 2: the thriller-demise version

sounds like in the horror salvation version don might survive!
Interesting considering the multiple endings I wonder what distribution model they'll choose. I vote streaming service so fingers crossed it comes to Netflix first
