Since this game uses the mythic system prestented in Mythic Adventures, I of course decided to look up mythic adventures in order to prepare my choices. As an alchemist main
I AM FU*KING APPALED AT THE LACK OF ALCHEMIST BOMB SUPPORT IN MYTHIC. Fun fact, did you know that Path of the Trickster, which is aimed at high dex and charisma, is the intended Alchemist path? Well, NEITHER DID FU*KING I, BECAUSE ALCHEMISTS DO NOT NEED CHARISMA. Alchemists has intelligence as their primary stat, with dex being second. Guess what, out of the entire path only a scant 4 abilites directly refrence anything alchemical. These are:
-Deadly Throw (Directly refrences alchemical items)
-Assured Drinker (Possibly useful?)
-Enhance Magic Items (Adds half your tier (max 10, so max bonus of 5) to the caster level of !potions!, scrolls, staves and wands. BOY, I HOPE OWLCAT REMEMBERED TO ADD THE PRAGMATIC ACTIVATOR TRAIT SO I DON'T NEED CHARISMA FOR ALL THOSE USE MAGIC DEVICE CHECKS, or else 75% of this ability is wasted)
-Enduring Elixir (a 6th tier ability that directly refrences extracts. Kinda late, don'tcha think?)
In other words, no one at paizo plays alchemists for the bombs, literally the greatest thing about alchemists (the second being the mutagen, combined with a Vest of Stable Mutation for no downsides). Welp, I had to go to the Spheres of Power Wiki in order to find anything remotely useful for Alchemists (mythic class abilities), but that's third party content (released by Legendary Games). In other words, this game needs mods. It needs them, A LOT. Who doesn't want to upgrade their AOE damage, after all? I wish I could trade all my poision stuff and immunity for more discoveries, since poison has always been so damn useless...
I had to vent, I was up for hours simmering with anger at the lack of viable options for alchemists in core mythic. Absolutely appaling... I hope this game supports some serious modding. I might have to modify the Alchemist class to something better.
