Hey guys,

I paused playing the game for quite a while now, since it was full of bugs in the beginning. What is the current state? Did they improve it? Can you play it without broken quests and so?

I just launched the game and I still get the same crash when I quit the game (hence every start of the game is considered "first start initiate...". That's not promissing :(

Appreciate your opinions.
Well I just bought the DLC and got no new content so I would say that qualifies as the game state not being what you'd hope it would be.

This says it all:

Sounds like the DLC launch was not smooth, but what of the base game? I don't have the DLC, but would love to try the base game out finally (assuming there are virtually no bugs left). But I have a feeling there is still quite a bit of work left to be done in stabilizing the game. :(

few bugs here and there. overall, totally playable. most people bitch and moan, me included, cause of how good the game is and how much should be done to make it even better.

upd. that being said there is a lot of work to do still. mostly, fixing lazy design in some areas.

Chronic restartis hindered my progress on many characters, but the Eldritch Scion playthrough I advanced to Act 6 became a rage quit and purge. Broken quests were an issue in that playthrough, and the first Wild Hunt fight induced a level of rage in a game I haven't experienced before. After that battle I methodically deleted every save from that playthrough and almost deleted the game from my harddrive. A lack of high speed internet at the time gave me pause on that though, so I didn't actually go through with the game delete Most of the bugs from that particular playthrough have been fixed (at least the ones I can remember), but at the time, were really freaking frustrating.

My second deep playthrough that advanced to Act 7 recently encountered a bug that sees my kingdom die despite being at serene, highly advanced, etc. Between the DLC load bugs that I experienced a few days ago, and this new one that the DLC probably introduced, I'm very close to calling it quits at this point. I'm currently sitting at over 500 hours into the game and still haven't beaten it yet (I already know how the game ends...hard to search for solutions without being spoiled). I think this will end up being a game I never complete, mostly due to sheer frustration and rage at certain points.

There are times I really freaking can't get enough of the game, and then along comes a moment when I consider throwing the computer across the room. This particular game may just not be for me, despite my having beaten multitudes of games in the same genre over the last 20 years. Your mileage may vary.
Parson's experiences are a pretty similar mirror to mine. I've cleared the game a few times, but I think I must've reached brickwall glitch ends a dozen times or so now. And every time I furiously swear off playing the game again as the prospect of the numerous hours sunk into a character are now lost.

But then I get a new idea for a character or see someone on a gaming board discussing it and I get the itch to come back. Like a battered spouse, I just don't learn. This time it'll be different. This time the game's not going to glitch. I know it loves me, it tells me so even after it tanks a 40 hour savegame.
I have put over 200 hours into the game and beaten it. I have encountered a number of bugs, but nothing that broke my game or prevented me from playing it. You should also know I am far less likey to rage quit then most people. So I have no problem playing an unpolished game. All that being said the developers have made great strides in patching and correcting issues on a regular basis.

As far as the DLC is concernced. From Owlcats most recent posts it was working as of last sunday (12/16/18).

side note: I also have not used any mods in order to avoid causing greater stability issues.

My overall opinion is that this is one of my favorite games and a great investment. Any current issues that exist today in the long run will not matter.

I have never finished this game because I have never been ABLE to finish it. I don't use mods. YMMV.
afaik there are no bugs atm that would prevent you from finishing the game. I have 1200h(about half of those tabbed though) and not once I ran into something that would break the play-through.

Nothing salves the pain of having a savegame ruined by a bug like someone reminding you "It works on MY machine!"

Quite so. "Don't know why these people complain, it works on MY machine!" Well whoop-de-do and goody for you, buddy. Truly, I hope you're having a good time, because I'M NOT!
That it works on some machines is *critical* info. You should not discourage people from sharing it.

I'm not discouraging anybody, I'm just frustrated.

Not really, if you pay money for it, being able to finish the game shouldn't be matter of luck.
