Im at my wits end in this battle after trying 20+ times on normal setting.
Ive got 6 level 4s in my group and I used guides for builds etc but i havent a hope in hell!
As far I can i killed all groups around the house and the beast too but i have absolutely no chance
.....
wow gods of RNG be praised! just after i posted this i managed somewhow to just pull 3 from the group on left side of house

I just dont get this game why cant they give the option of full turn based since the Ai assisted is so impossible to be sure if they will do the action or ignore it or do somethintg totally different. It means have top repay over and over until finally they actually do what you instructed

If you want the game to be turn based you can set auto pause to pause at the end of each round.

Please be aware that this game closely emulates Pathfinder as if it were played in real time. Pathfinder is a turn-based game, and unless you're on easy mode, you should be pausing practically every couple of seconds during each engagement. This isn't a cheese strategy or a development oversight, that's just how D&D works. You'll notice similar themes in Neverwinter Nights and even the Baldurs Gate series.

As for raiding the fort... It's six dudes verses a literal fort. It's supposed to be tough. It sounds like you finished it already, but you're supposed to take it carefully, splitting the baddies up, chowing down on consumables, making use of buffs and wands and metamagic rods and ranged attacks and whatever else has been made available!
A couple of spells that can really turn a fight around (and did for me in this one) are Blind, which is permanent, and Hold Person. If those go through it can make things a lot easier. With all the different possible party builds out there it's impossible to say just how exactly to go about any spesific fight, but crowd control is always your friend.
The Web spells makes the Stag Lord's Fort ridiculously easy. Even on the hardest difficulty, if you drop two or three Web spells down over an area, those NPCs aren't going anywhere. Your party can just equip bows and laugh their way to the bank. Escaping NPC making a b-line for the alarm? Not with Web! Stag Lord boss fight have too many NPCs? Not when half of them can't move away from the building to engage in the first place!
To OP (and WAAAY too many other people who've posted similar complaints on various forums):

Spells, buffs, and tactics win or lose fights in DnD. If you're just auto attacking and hoping for good RNG results or relying on uber builds, you'll have a very frustrating experience with this game and also miss out on a lot of it's best features/layers.
