Just bought this game, was about to play, but I like to check the options first. Saw that this game wants to track me and much of my personal details. None of the reviews I read mentioned this which I believe is pretty important. This I do not want, so I go to opt out.

After some waffle it finally says, "Please note that this will result in a non-personalized game experience."

What exactly does this mean? What will I miss out of the game that's personal? Will I still be able to name my own character and customise him or will I be forced onto some default character? Is there anything else I will be forced to miss out on?

Also any more info on this would be useful as I am moments from refunding this. Thanks in advance.

I don't know why that popped up. Your game experience will be fine. One thing the game does through GOG is to compare how you're doing with other players so you may not know if you're part of the 10% who did <insert special thing>, but the gameplay itself won't be effected. You'll still be able to name your character, and make other RP based choices.

Thanks for your reply. I appreciate your words.

Sorry, but, too late. I refunded it. It put a bad taste in my mouth. I just didn't like the whole trying to track me in the background then telling me I would have a non-personalised experience when I tried to opt out. It felt like attempted blackmail. Not having it. It's just a game. I paid my money that should be enough.

Not what I expect from a game on GOG and I always try to support GOG. But I won't support stuff like that.

But thanks anyway.
