What is the reason behind linux version updates either not coming at all (only get newer full install), or coming late? Is this because of gog, or the game devs?

It appears to be GOG for this game. A couple of months ago we worked with developer @Mortheim and at that time the they had provided the patch but GOG support said that their system could not keep up with the pace of updates and that only full downloads would be available.. Since then they did go through the 1.1.2e to 1.1.4b period where incremental updates were provided but then seemed to stop again. I have given up on incremental updates for this title and just use lgogdownloader to get the latest each time.

@Mortheim can you confirm that the incremental patches for linux from 1.1.4b to 1.1.6b were provided to GOG?

So linux users are expected to redownload the whole game every time we want to update the game with a new patch.... I will probably take a look at that download tool, but it's disappointing that linux games keep getting shafted on gog and makes steam that much more attractive.

That's the way it's been for 99% of Linux games here for years. For a short while, patches were made, but I guess they decided it wasn't worth it for their what? 5 Linux customers? Oh well. I'm used to it by now, to the point where I don't even bother looking for patches any more, even for Windows games.

With this game, they don't even bother providing the "premium_digital_copy" extra that is supposed to come with the Imperial Edition for Linux (but it's there for Mac and Windows, of course). Opening a ticket with support is too much trouble to fix it, especially since I'm probably the only one in the world affected.

Be reassured, you're not! I do play PF:K on LInux as well.

Incidentally, copying the gog-XXXX.info (where XXXX is a sequence of digits) files from a MacOSX install enables all the DLC for me. They're 0-sized when installing on Linux, and they shouldn't be... it's not a great solution, but it's a workaround.

I would never have thought of that. I consider those .info files to be gog's own mostly useless accounting files. Sure enough, placing the .info file from the Windows version of the extra (easily extracted using innoextract) activated it. And here I thought the extra was just an empty archive. Thanks very much. I probably still won't open an issue with gog, though, even though I should.
