How to get from a level to the map to travel again?

Is there any shortcut, any functionality? I finished camping and now I am walking around in search for that compass that will set me back on a road. This is ridiculus. I would like to just get back to map and travel further, I do not enjoy just walking around a forest where nothing can happen. Help please.

You don't have to walk around searching for it. Open up your map and you will see the exit marker.

I do not see them. I thik they are marked on the map only if you uncovered them in the first place. Or maybe it is a bug?

Still, there is really no way to just leave a location and travel to another one?

No, the game engine requires a marker. Besides, the encounter maps are tiny. What's the problem?
