I have been into D&D since the 80s, but mostly games based on the D&D world(NVN, IWD1 and 2, BG series, etc since 1998 or so). I use these builds...

What do you think about a sort of Tristian-like build Ecc/Sorc/Theurge with LE alignment, death, darkness domains and evoc and necro foci? It would be similiar to the aforementioned Tristian build, but tweaked as I stated. Any hints for stats, evolution of the build during leveling, etc. I have tried about 10 builds and started over about as many times lol. Just learning the game. I have yet to go beyond the Twice Born King chapter. I'm a bit OCD about events, recipes, relics, etc and I want a "perfect" game.As a general rule ***spoiler*** I turn on story mode saving Bart, the Dweomercat(sp?) and sometimes in the Tenebrous Ruins as Perc checks are imperative for the best results. Not to rain on the parade, but Mystic Theurges suffer in this game a lot due to the 4 level lag behind on spell levels. In BG 1-2 the dual class Cleric-Mage was a monstrously powerful one at end level, but in PF that is sadly not the case.

That said, a LE caster is viable, especially if you have the DLCs - Varnhold's lot gives a staff restricted to Evil characters and grantas a +4 INT which is massive.

Evo is only good if you go for arcane trickster, then it really pays off. 2 levels of Vivisectionist gives the Rogue prereqs for it and gives you the cognatogen (+2 stacking INT).

erastil ecclesi8/wiz3/MT9 community+whatever is pretty decent. If you do it as a level20 merc hire. If anything, it's a full cleric with guarded health and mirror image+improved invis, so that's already better than most clerics. Other than that MT is a waste of space cause you don't get spell synthesis at 10 which could be a decent argument even though it's 1/day thing. LE not so much though. I guess you could do asmodeus MT, but it won't be that good.

Yeah, I understand being behind in leves, but it was the same with bg games...never quite as powerful as pure classes, but late game you have access to all cpells except druidic. I only dip for viv on melee type classes generally; perhaps I should visit Ariel for my Evo Theurge and respec. My evil guy is the brain child or Tristian and Harrim lol Thx for replying:) Yeah, my guy is more of a concept build with an Evil/Darkness/Death motif. He's average at best. I started a new game LG with your Aldori Duelist build(if you are indeed the one who created the aforementioned builds in my original post). She's great thus far. Getting ready to storm the trolls!
